Any one who has read some of my other posts will know I've had various ongoing experiences....but this one has be stumped.

About 3 months ago I was on a break with hubby, stayed in hotel and during the night, 4am I woke suddenly, as if some thing disturbed me. As I was going back to sleep in the darkness of my closed eyes i saw out of no where what looked like a flash lamp. It was a tiny bright light in the darkness of my eyes...picture your self in a dark room, and look across it, and imagine a little white light the other side of the room. its swaying from left to right and back again, over and back slowly. I got a bit of a fright and opened my eyes, I could see the outline of our room in the dark, hubby fast asleep....and thought...maybe im having some kind of vision....and decided to close my eyes and go with it, if it happened again.

i closed my eyes and with in 30 seconds it started again, so I kept them closed and went with it.....the lamp got brighter and brighter as it swayed over and back and it felt like it was eventualy going to brighten up the room.....as the light got brighter i started seeing an outline of a person, the outline was black like the darkness of the night with the light shining behind it...and the shadow of the person began to walk across in front of my eyes.....

again imagine your in a pitch dark room the person with the flash lamp is now swaying a massive one back and forth and as the light moves you seek the outline of the person walking across the room, then i saw a second human outline and one was right up close to my face....and as the place got brighter i started to see other details like the colour on the walls of the room, furniture etc...then i opened my eyes with fright because it was becoming clear and i was afraid of what i was about to see.....immediatly i thought....if this is some vision i dont want to see it play out in case it frightens me....in case its some thing negative....as i opened my eyes the vision didnt go automatically, it kind of faded, and this frightened me too, so i woke my husband.....

i was a bit anxious to say the least and as he kept asking me what was the matter, i said turn on the light quick....and looked around the room, checking i was alive.....we were where we were, etc....i held his hand and told him to wait until i could explain this one.....we lay in the bed together, the bedside light on, and me trying to find words to explain this one....so i did, he listened....i decided to hold his hand, turn off the light and if it started again i would talk to him about what was happening as it happened. nothing happened for about ten mins,,,then out of no where it started again....i talked him through it....but this time as the light got brighter it quickly changed to a light purple colour, the dark room disappeared to each side of me and i was looking up at what was like the night time sky, stars and all. and it was all over really quickly after that....ended with in a min or two....not a thing since. each time it was only lasting minutes by the way, 5 or 6 mins with this flashlamp :-).....

Now can i just make it clear....i was not on drugs, snorting cocaine or dabbling in any thing i shouldn't be dabbling in....im not that type of person....but i will say i had taken a prescription tablet that day ....the only thing is i took it two or three times before in the last two years, and once since, and had so side effect like this!! had no side effect what so ever actually.....

So next day i did some internet research into hallucinations...and im just not getting any explanation really....havent looked into it since as it hasn't happened since!

    1) check the side effects listed on your medication. Even if you didn't experiance any side effects before that's not to say that you didn't when you were seeing spots.

    2) get your eyes checked by your GP or optician. Tell them that you were seeing bright points of light in your vision.

It may have been nothing more than a figment of your brain's imagination as it turned off for the night, but it'd be terrible if you were actually sick and wrote off the warning signs as ghosts.

.but i will say i had taken a prescription tablet that day
was it a tranquilizer of the benzo type, an antidepressant or a pain killer with codeine. no need to answer.

personally I wouldnt read anything into something that happens in and around sleep time. the processes the brain, eyes and ears etc go through at those times are just way too complicated. basically if you are seeing things as you describe, I'd put it down to your brain getting ready for sleep.

actually a lot of meds can cause hallucinations, even some antihistamines i have for an allergy that you can get without prescription. Google [your meds] side effects
