    Hi everyone
Looking for some help please.i am looking for somewhere to live for two people.one will be working in Citywest(has a car) the other in Palmerstown(no car). We want to be close enough to town but not too far to commute daily either. After looking at the bus routes to Palmerstown the Chapelizord,Islandbridge,Kilmainham areas look ideal. What is traffic like from these areas to Citywest and which would be best for both areas? Any help would be great thanks everyone :):):):)

Need more info. Young people, starting a family, or....?

Places like Lucan and Leixlip are a short drive from Citywest and on bus routes through Palmerstown, but are more suited to people who don't frequent socialise daily in Dublin city centre.

Lucan would be your best bet. Decent bus service to Palmerstown (10 Mins on bus) and an excellent road route to City West (10mins)

Leixlip is a super place to live but Lucan has the better bus service with more routes.

Sorry guys bit more info we are both young professionals who would have a healthy social life so closer to the city is defo a must! We are looking to be about half way between work and town to achieve the "work-life" balance :)

What about Kilmainham? Close to the Naas Road and the N4 for getting out to Citywest, within bussing distance from Palmerstown, and a short Luas ride into town.

I would recommend living in Chapelizod, which is close to Palmerstown, and the N4 for access to the M50 and Citywest, and very close to the city. Both of your commutes would be against the traffic too. Chapelizod also has the advantage of being a really nice place too.

Otherwise, consider living in Palmerstown itself.

I dont think that there is a way around it. UPC dont seem to have great broadband coverage in West Dublin

OT, but UPC are upgrading cables in parts of Lucan at the moment and have said broadband and phone will be available in my housing estate next 12 weeks.
Newer parts of Lucan were among first areas, including Tallaght, where broadband was available on NTL, IIRC, 6-7 years ago
