Hi guys, just a quick question.

If i have received a subpoena to appear as a witness in a civil case does the subpoena have to be handed to me in person for it to be valid.

    Thanks again for any help.

    No and turn up.

As tom said it can be handed to a spouse or other responsible person over 16 in your household or indeed with an employer but only after reasonable attempts have been made to serve you personally.

It's an order of the Court so yes you must turn up.
