Daughter flew to Dusseldor at the week-end. When checking in suitcase girl remarked to her that when they move to T2 she will be unable to use her tiny pink carry on because it's expandable, anyone else hear of this ? Her carry on is really small, looks like AE and FR all the one now.

I recently flew with ryanair and being careful about these kind of things, I measured my bag before hand. The bag was just the right size however when I went to airport, the cages were much much bigger than the quoted dimensions. I therfore think ryanair are very fair in this regard & anyone who gets caught out must be taking the piss re size.
If the expandable bag fits within dimensions, I dont see what the problem is.

    Expandable meaning a soft shell?

I think the OP means, the zip around the full diameter of the suitcase, and when you open the zip it gives you usually 2 inches or so extra room inside the case.
