Bmw 320Cd or Audi A4

Replacing my 2002 Skoda octavia in april/may and this time i am going for a slightly more upmarket diesel (Im not posh or anything its just that my Skoda is 9 years old now and i may aswell buy when its a buyers market), atm its between the Bmw 320cd 3-5 door M-sport (last of the 2005 model) and the 2005 Shape Audi A4 2 litre diesel.

I was thinking of maybe the Audi 1st as its a grand looking car and not too unlike my Octavia (which i love btw, great car the 2002 shape one) but my aunt had problems with her audi 80/a4 years ago and the 2005 one has actually a very large body for a car with 1 person in it 90% of the time.

Then there is the Bmw 320cd which i think is a great looking little car 3 or 5 door especially if you can get an m-sport one but im worried that the parts will be mad expensive and that Bmw's might give trouble with part's like the turbo.

So basically im looking for anyone who has had any dealings with these 2 cars to give me the ''down low'' as im going to be paying off whichever one i choose for 4 years (credit union ftw) and the budget is just over 8 grand (might be buying in north/in the UK we shall see whats available).

Or alternatively if anyone can suggest a good 2 litre diesel type car in my pricerange that is comfortable/nippy and looks ok that i havent thought of or that had suprised you and won you over.

Thanks in advance for any helpful comments :)

    Get a 320d.

Parts are not expensive, thats a myth.

Just get your parts from the likes of eurocarparts.

I ordered OEM brakepads for my 320d and my fathers passat and his were more expensive.

Audi will definately be more expensive than BMW.

When you get the 320d, if you get an E46, spend a couple of hundred quid, get the swirl flaps removed and breather filter changed and off you go!

Or, if you get an E90 like this then you'll be grand: http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/1700925

Can you clarify which model BMW you're going for? The 320Cd is a coupe and therefore 2 dr only. Then there are saloon (4dr) and estate (5dr) variants.

320 Cd coupe is preferable but 5 door 320d with m-sport pack is grand too so long as its the older shape :D
