    Ebay is your friend!
I bought a set LED lenser P7 and LED Lenser H7R(head torch), both fantastic, Ebay was the cheapest.
I only buy from recommended seller, not sure what the risk of not doing that is.

    whats a vat number?

Your pulling my leg  VAT 69 was a good year:D:D

VAT = Value Added Tax the tax put on most everything you buy. Every trader/company has a VAT number so look at the letter head of these firms.

You can try your PRSI number with EI at the front , it sometimes works, or use a friend that has a company about their VAT number ;)
