Hi all am considering 2 -3 weeks in states in summer, heard with $ euro it's good value never been there before so what would I put on my itinerary.2 kids 14 & 12 so not bothered about nightlife.

I suppose New York, possibly Boston,Chicago would we also do Vegas and Orlando?

I presume it's better to book through agent would probably take internal flights don,t know if fly drive is a good option.

    Any help or opinions appreciated

you can try with Touramerica. The last time i travel to Orlando, USA, I use www.expedia.ie because it have a better deal and less expensive than touramerica.

Flydrive is a better option to do.

If you are planning to go to Orlando to see Disney, Universal etc. I would consider you to use this Ticket Agent in Dublin and the ticket price is far more cheaper than buying in orlando.

    hope this help

It really depends what you are interested in, city break? Beach break? Theme Parks? If it is your first time in the States and with kids that age, I would be inclined to do Orlando. It really is an amazing place, so much more than just theme parks. You also have great restaurants, fantastic shopping and you are
Driving distance to the beach, Kennedy Space Centre and loads more attractions. If you chose to go to Orlando, you really won’t need to do a fly-drive, there is tonnes there to keep you occupied for two weeks and more. For Orlando, it tends to be cheaper to book through a travel agent, try www.touramerica.ie or www.americanholdays.ie the great thing about Orlando is that you get a really good hotel for a very reasonable price, it’s the cheapest tourist destination for accommodation.

The only thing about Orlando is that it will be very busy, crowded and hot in the Summer. That doesn’t have to be a deal breaker, just make sure you are at the theme parks when they open, go on all the popular rides first, and then head back to the hotel for a rest and a swim in the afternoon when it is hottest and the parks are busiest.

There are loads of posts on Orlando here, it can be quite daunting to book a holiday there as there is so much to do. I would suggest having a look through the old threads and coming back with any specific questions.

I go to the States every year during the summer and always book flights and hotels independently online. I find July and August are more expensive to get over there so we normally go in June.

You could probably break your suggested itinerary in a couple of holidays.
    - Florida as already suggested.
    - The Northeast for Boston, New York, Philly and maybe some beach locations like Cape Cod or Atlantic City.
    - Vegas and California and maybe stopover in Chicago on the way over.
