from hotukdeals - cant seem to order from the dell.com site but .ie is only a couple of euro more.

Seems like a good deal. Great reviews on amazon where they are over 70 quid.

*£44.99 with code SS2X94B93H3HCF** massive respect to 'madazan' for this!!
I paid £65 for these a few months ago and they are great value for money (from a top maker). I have them hooked up to my PC and they fill the entire room with quality sound. Very loud too :-)
    £96.91 @ Argos
    £72.95 @ Amazon
    £77.99 @ Play
    £71.99 @ PCworld
    £82.51 @ BTshop
Immerse yourself in the game with the outstanding surround sound of Logitech’s X-540 speaker system. Dual driver satellites use FDD2™ technology to eliminate uneven response created by conventional dual driver designs and matrix mode creates 5.1 surround sound from 2-channel sources. An innovative centre channel speaker clips onto the top of most flat-panel LCD monitors. The ported subwoofer features dynamic, real-time equalization that maximizes bass while minimizing distortion. The X-540 also features a convenient control pod with volume and subwoofer level controls, as well as a headphone jack for private listening. Satellite stands rotate for easy wall mounting.

Have the old version of these, used for a number of years now. Will a good surround soundcard work well in a small room. Bass could be a bit crisper but good for the price.

Would these work on a TV? On the back of the TV it has a red and white port for audio left and right?

Does say it has a matrix mode for upmixing stereo, which I guess would work (might need adapter cable)

you might be better off with a home cinema system for a bit more control over the sound and proper surround decoding

From reading the comments it does work but it wont be 'true surround sound' - whatever that means. Might be worth doing a bit of reading before buying.

What this means is it just spreads the sound over the 5 speakers. Imagine splitting a standard headphones port 5 ways, and plugging 5 standard speakers in, getting the same audio over each speaker. Within reason.

I have these and they're pretty decent. Awkward to get to work with a mac.

Similar to Ghost Train train, I have the X-530 and they are great. The specs are almost identical so I'd expect the same from these.

Erm... 5% cashback with Fatcheese on this as well so after the voucher code that's €2.66 back.

I bought some Logitech speakers a while back from eBay (very bad choice... buying from eBay not the speakers) as they stopped working after a day :( But they were amazing the day they worked. LOL.

Comes with a wired remote. Im sure you could plug in your phone with a jack to jack wire.

I know at least similar models have a line in and out on the side of the wired remote, so you could very easily use your phone.
