Was just reading a thread on AH where someone said he'd NEVER go to counselling because it NEVER works and RARELY helps, so just in case anyone ever wanders over here wondering about it, here's a Cochrane Review: Counselling for Psychological and Psychosocial Problems in Primary Care Seligmann's large-scale Consumer Report

Really interesting! there is a definite lack of knowledge out there about counselling and psychotherapy in ireland, i come accross it very often.
I went for an interview last week (in a totally unrelated job to counselling) and mentioned to the interviewer that i was studying counselling and psychotherapy and this guy said "is that one of those wishy washy courses that tells you how to tell other people how to live their life?"
