Looking for a song.

I'm trying to track down a song that I used to hear on the radio when living in France.

At the very start of the song it mentions a 'Watermelon Man', but it's not the Herbie Hancock number, or any of it's variants. (edit; perhaps it is, but if so, it doesn't sound anything like the original)

It was a real dancey soul number, and that's all I got folks.

Any ideas?

I have a feeling the OP was looking for this song, which he used to hear on this station when living in Paris, and got it mixed up with the slightly similar-sounding Watermelon Man in his head, only realising his mistake when he watched the excellent Superbad recently.

This is just a theory, mind.
