    Hi

We have a Lara Alarm system in our house, having a few minor problems so hoping they will call out to have a look.

Alarm was already in the house so don't have contact details from before.

If I google Lara Alarms (www.lara.ie), they are based in Oak Drive Dublin 12.

Further on, it says Lara Alarms went bust in May 2009 and the Lara Fire and Security was set up (www.larafireandsecurity.ie) - based in Maynooth.

The address on the CRO for Lara Alarms is Maynooth. Does anyone know if the phone number on the old Lara Alarms website is transferred to the Maynooth company or are they both completely different companies?

    Thanks

If you can get them out any registered security company will sort the alarm for you. If you let us know what the problems are we will also help if you want to fix the alarm yourself.

Thanks altor, not very technical myself so probably best to get in the experts:)

Just as an extra question, is it better to have sensors on downstairs windows that will go off if the windows are opened or just to have the sensors that will go off if the window gets a knock?

On downstairs and all accessible windows it is best to have shock sensors plus open close contacts.

Your welcome, with all the help you would get here you would not be stuck for help :D

I would rather have the shocks than the contacts as if the glass is smashed or taken out of the frame with just contacts fitted the alarm wont activate unless the window is opened.

Yeah i had the same problem when i went looking for the contact details for Lara Alarms Ltd. Turns out they ceased trading in 2009 and the registered office is now at Lara Fire and Security Office, Unit D11, M4 Interchange Park, Maynooth Road, Celbridge, Co. Kildare. The contact number is 01 6012700.

The company at the old address in Oak Drive is Lara Electrical Ltd who now trades as Lara Alarms to confuse us into thinking they are the same company because they have the same contact details. Without realising this i had them do a call out for me and cause they are electricans and dont specialise in alarms the job took ages to complete and even then i had problems again and ended up calling out Lara Fire and Security who had the problem sorted within half an hour.
