Laptop with 17 screen

Looking around the net for a laptop with 17' screen,thoughht I would put up a post here too see if anyone has seen any good deals,bricks and motar or online.

Anyhow the laptop will be used for internet,watching movies,college work etc.The only thing really needed is a big screen doesnt have to be hd,decent enough hdd price range 4-500,dont mind if its a refurb either.

As I said the only thing is a big screen but if anyone seen a laptop on a decent price please let me know.

if you DO manage to get a laptop with a 17 incher for your budget im sure my phone will be faster than it...!

if it were me i would deffo go for the one with an i3.

the intel gma graphics on that would struggle with HD content I would imagine.

its cheap for a reason. I would think you would have to pay about 700e for a decent 17" machine but I may be wrong

a second had dell xps would be a better choice, and put on an extended warranty onto it for peace of mind

i3 has built in graphics that can handle hd

Looking around and it seems you are right I wont be able to get a laptop with the size screen for that money.I decided to get a 15.6' so,I see a few on laptops-direct and argos,alot better deals on that size

This laptop in Argos http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10152&catalogId=13352&langId=111&searchTerms=acer+aspire+7741g&authToken= was €600 before christmas bit above your budget I know but it gets worse......

It's €830 now but it could come down to the €600 again as the site says current selling price is valid until 21/01/2011 (Long shot maybe). So if you weren't in a hurry to buy, I don't think you could get better , i3 processor, 4GB Ram, strong build has this grachics card in it http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-5470.23698.0.html. Only fault it has is 2-3 battery hour life.

and I would take that ad saying HD Grpahics with a pinch of salt, Intel GMA struggle to play solatire, to suggest it can view avatar in 1080p is clutching a whole bunch of straws

The integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD (GMA HD) graphics card is known to be clocked up to 500-667 MHz (due to Turbo Boost) and should be clearly faster than the old GMA 4500MHD. The Core i5 and i7 models should still be a bit faster because of the higher max. clock speed of the GPU. The performance of the graphics in 3D should be on par with a Radeon HD 4200 but the driver support is usually worse.

that seems like a decent laptop,but the laptop battery is a disgrace.I might just keep looking and see if I can get any better
