We ran out of oil and just got more today, but now the boiler is not working. At first the red light was on so I pressed that and it tried to start but failed, then I left it for a while and when I tried again it started for about a minute. Then the red light went off altogether and there is no life out of it at all now. I've tried holding the button in but it doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone help?

Should I try bleeding the air out of it as it says on another thread or does the light going off mean something different?

Sounds like it just needs to be bleed. Open her up till you get some fuel coming through

If i follow the instructions for that is there any way it could go wrong? I'm asking because I have no idea what I'm doing and I don't want to screw it up!:o

Do you know where to bleed it?

No but I've read through the other threads and sites about it so I'm sure I could find it if I followed them carefully, but if you're able to tell me I'd really appreciate it!

Their isnt much too it really. Remove the cover off the burner, find the bleed nut along the fuel line. Screw it open a few turns, and you will hear the air spitting out. When you get a good flow screw it back in, and press the red button again on the burner and she should fire up.

Thanks a million! Will the red light come back on when I do that or should the boiler just start up itself? Should I leave it turned on at the switch to do this or turn it off?

It has to be on at the switch ofcourse or it wont fire. Just when your tightening the bleed nut, press the red button.
