If an application is made and AGS decide to refuse the application. Has the person got the right to know On what grounds the application is being refused. Just a general question.

You have to get through the various stages first ie aptitude, interview before it gets to the stage of background checks. It is at that stage that your past and relations are looked at, you are then progressed onto medical and physical after which the commissioner will either accept or reject your application. It's very rare for someone to be rejected once they've passed all the stages unless there's a serious reason behind it. You are informed of all reasons, i know a friend who was called in to meet his local super and given a full and frank explanation (something to do with a dodgy uncle)

Are you sure they have to give a reason? I was under the impression the final decision was that of the commisioner, and they werent obliged to give a reason...

i'm not sure about someone who has completed the latter stages, but i know this guy fell at the background checks stage and he was told why by the super. We've all heard the horror stories (a lot of fantasies) about friends cousins etc who failed medical because they needed a filling! The amount of times i've heard that urban myth is untrue!
