Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me. I am getting married in July and I have my weding dress. I need to have it altered, like add some things and tke it in one size. Does anyone know of a reliable dressmaker in galway or outskirts?I just have 5 months and I want to get on with it.

    Thanks

Tracy at Sew Molone, Portumna seems to have a lot of experience in this area.

Its a new shop so I don't know anyone that has had work done there yet...

There's a brilliant one just outside Ballinasloe, I would say she's worth going to even though it's far from city. She is amazing at what she does, have seen a few of her wedding dresses and they are beautiful. Let me know if you want her details and I can pass them on.

Getting dress altered by Beata across the road from Belladonna Bridal in Galway on Tuam Rd. She came highly recommended and is supposed to be good value. Quoted me reasonable anyway.

    Hi Beata,
Could you PM me details of the lady opposite Belladonna. Did you get your dress altered from her yet?
    Thanks,

Thanks a mill Gatica! I presume all went well for your dress? I really appreciate u getting back so fast as I currently have my new dress in a place for alterations that doesn't require dry cleaning. I decided not to go with them (as i wanted to price around) and I collected it this evening after only dropping it in yesterday to discover 4 make up/ blood stains on the dress where pins had been inserted and then removed as I was collecting it. They have denied causing the stains. I am raging as it is a brand new dress never worn by anyone and I was thrilled not having to get it cleaned. They never used gloves when handling the dress. I will be sending them the dry cleaning bill.

sorry you had that experience with them. Even new dresses sometimes have stains on them from the bridal shop as unfortunately they sometimes allow others to try it on in the shop before you pick it up. Are you sure they weren't there from the shop? Not all shops do this mind you.
Hope you get it cleaned and modified ok!
