Hi Lads, just want to know what do people think is better, Rainbow Six Vegas or Rainbow Six Vegas 2? I have decided I'm going to get 1 but I don't know which is better
    Thanks

Vegas 2 I found just tweaked and improved some features in a game that didn't need a huge amount of improving. Some better maps in Vegas 1 IMO though. The fact that pre-owned you could get the two of them for €30 though should seal the deal.

Ya Ive seen then pretty cheap pre-owned so I probably will end up getting both. Is the second one a re-hash of the first game or is different? Some reviews say most maps are the same

Not a rehash and yeah there is map similarities, I just prefers the first ones for some reason. You won't be wasting money buying the two though

I preferred the first one, definitely. The weapons feel nice, chunky and lethal. The sequel has more variety, especially online, but the actual feel of it is a bit weaker to me.

Which one has the longest single player mode? (Handy when the internet is down)

I prefer the first although it has not aged well at all, 2 looks much better but seems to have lost something that i just cant put my finger on.

terrorist hunt in vegas 2 is the business.
ive more hours on the offline than any other game online/offline. battlefield might come close with 500 hours but rainbow 6 got its moneys worth.
i picked it up again recently but the graphics are pretty lacking in it and theres no jump or melee.

    12 euro in game btw

Is the terrosit hunt a level in single player or is it some sort of map in multiplayer? Ya ive seen it on ebay for as little as 10 euro with delivery :D

Terrorist Hunt is a kind of skirmish. You - or maybe you and a mate in split screen - just wander through a game map and kill all the other 'bots.

It's testament to the first game that you can play the same map over and over again and be surprised by the badguys every time. The LVU campus map makes for a marvellous game.

its a load of maps where you can go solo with 2 of your ai's against the computer where you must eliminate all the terrorists. your hunting them so they dont come looking for you unless they hear your fire.

you can also do it with up to 4 splitscreen or online with up to 4 peope too
brilliant bit of fun against the smartest ai out of any game

So what are the actual game modes in Vegas 2?

wel you gots your standard story mode. very good, only story i played more than twice
then you have offline terrorist hunt. even better
then you got online terrorist hunt. even better again
also theres a team death match and free for all, and a map where you must hold the 3 flags/ bases for a period of time.
epic game lad and if the not so new graphics wont bother you its worth more than any new game out there.

Multiplayer, Vegas 2 is better if for no other reason than there are more people playing it these days.

Single Player it was no contest. Vegas 1 felt like it was in Vegas. Part 2 felt like generic warehouse shooter the sequel. From a single player perspective it was the biggest letdown so far on Xbox 360 for me.

Vegas 2 is a class game, one of my favorite shooters on the 360, i just wish they would hurry up with another Rainbow 6

give it time, i cursed it when i got it, controls took a bit of getting used to but its worth it, the control you have over your character is so much better than COD imo , i miss some of thefeatures when playing BLOPS

Terrorist Hunt on Murdertown on the hardest setting in co-op mode drove me almost to the point of madness.
Seriously tough game. 1 shot = death!

The AI is incredible..esp if you consider how difficult it is just to get out of the building at the start.

I loved the RSV titles. Great action and story (apart from 2 which was a bit rushed in the ending). One thing they both did which I am still waiting to see another FPS do is the bullet wounds on the character models (yes I know PC games such as Far Cry had them). There was something insanely satisfying about checking a guy you just nailed with a headshot and seeing it caught him straight between the eyes. Not to sound like a psychopath or anything but it was just a small element I really liked in them :D

Multiplayer was also a fav, although I only ever really played it on RSV (the casino map being a fav). Getting a proper team together, planning out the attack then rapelling down the side of the casino through the windows and slaughtering everyone who thought you were all just going to come through the door :D Had some great matches with it and definitely sunk 100+ hours into the online alone.

Well worth picking up if you've never played them.

Could have done with making the rapelling a bit more useful though, I mean they made a big deal about it in all of the promo stuff at the time but there are only a few spots where you can actually use it.

The only thing that actually bugged me in the first game was that in Terrorist Hunt in particular, the game won't spawn enemies at any real distance. In the Mexican town, for instance, I'd often climb up on top of a building in the hopes of picking off a few of the dudes down below, but those guys won't actually be there, until I hoof it down there to trigger their spawning. Quite annoying.
