do a backup of the 3gs with itunes and make sure everything is set to sync, just sync the new iphone then and that will do it

I was with o2 for years but had a 3 iPhone 4 bought for me for Xmas:D. I pay €40 a month with 3 and you get LOADS of free Internet and other stuff.
I just rang 3 and asked them to change the 3 number that came with the phone to my o2 number and it was done in 2 days, no problems.
Haven't had any problems with coverage or anything but I didn't have an iPhone with o2 so I can't compare them with iPhone use...

So far so good with 3:D

Cheers lads, on the way into town now.
I called o2 last night and told them I was leaving. They tried to make me stay but had nothing to say when I told them I get more talk and texts more data and less rental with 3...

I'm moving from o2 to 3 next month. Keep us posted if you have any network issues.

Well so far so good. Recption is the same if not better with 3 so far. Well that's in south Tipp. One thing to watch out for is FaceTime. You get charged 25c for a international text to register, but I got charged 49c. Called customer care and it's sorted.

How much is the Internet on 3?

I am on a 40e plan. 350 flexi units(1 unit = 1 talk min or 2 text). Free 3 to 3 talk mins. 2GB data/tethering. No Free MMS which is a pain but most people have email these days.

Not doing their job very well. They could have said that voicemail doesn't get charged outside your minutes on o2 or that o2 give you mms in your bundle or that o2 has edge coverage outside of 3G areas or that o2 will unlock your iphone without you buying out your contract or that o2 has a local customer servic team which is streets ahead of 3.

Yes, they probably just went with the "O2 are 50% more expensive" line....:D

To each their own. I don't send MMS(we use email), I don't want to unlock my phone. I have better coverage on3 than o2 for calls which I need. I never checked my voice mails as i rather call the person. Customer service maybe local but that doesnt mean better. I call them a few times to cancel my monthly contract with o2 and very time I got different answers as to what to do. My girlfriend has a complaint with o2 for the insulting way she was handled and the language that was used at her.

The one problem that I had with 3 was fixed straight away.

I am a three customer. I'm just pointing out some of the advantages that o2 has over them. Overall, I find three ok but a few niggling things like the stealth charges on voicemail.....and trust me the customer service centre is sh1t

You shouldn't need to use it, but Hullomail is brilliant on iPhone, and free.

Well for me 3 are far better than o2. The less I call customer care on any network the better!!!

Hi, I just swithed from 02 to 3 about 2 hours ago. I can't really comment on the reception yet. it wouldnt be far to 3.
my question is how do i check my balance. O2 had an app giving your account details.

Go to the 3 home page, log in, then add it to your home screen and it will appear like a app. Anytime you want to check your usage just tap in and go to My3.

You don't need to do that Soot, if you go to Safari on your phone and look at the bookmarks you'll see planet 3 there, click that then click my 3. No need to log into the website or register.

Your outgoing mail server is mail-relay.3ireland.ie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 147 ✭✭Soot-fan
