    up round this way there has been a large increase in the pigeon population since christmas.is it the same futher south????? see them everywhere fedding in fields and in trees and they fck can they fly fast.

    there must have been 4 or 5 hundred in a field beside me
    one shot and they re all gone

    You probably notice them more now that they are in the massive winter flocks and have been since November. I love pigeon shooting myself especially this time of year. Have 60 acres of winter rape to look after and there is about a thousand on it each day. There is also a really good roosting wood that the majority of the birds are using. Been out a few times and managed about 25-30 for a few hours. Going to go for a day on it maybe next Saturday weather permitting. Will be there from first light and decoy till 3 then down roosting. The roosting is the best sport and if lads have not tried it you really should. You will need plenty of cartridges though:D

    was roost shooting yesterday evening and ran out:eek: i was waiting for them under trees were i thought they roost but i heard them an went after them,well i never heard such a racket and the sky was black:eek: it was a great evenings shooting but i should have brought someone
