Hey all, I'm looking for a resource to use as part of my thesis, would be very grateful for any help.

Basically what I'm looking to do is compare how often a certain topic (inflation) is reported over the last couple of years (say 2008-2010) to previous periods (ideally 2002-2004 and some period in the 90's). This isn't the crux of my thesis, but it's a potentially very interesting side topic, I'm looking at consumer perceptions of inflation in the main.

Short of trawling through image archives is there any online resource that will let me search headlines/articles in Ireland for mentions of inflation without too much messing around? Even resources for the UK, US, or other countries could be helpful.

I've looked at the resources available through my college library and haven't had any luck. I'm also aware that there are companies that provide that kind of service but I'm looking for something free or very reasonably priced, student budget and all that.

Any help would be brilliant, thanks a lot! :D

EDIT: After more trawling through the library website, turns out we have access to Irish News Archive. It looks like it'll do the job, unless anyone can think of a better place to go...

If you did a lexis nexis search - you can get it in some libraries, particularly university ones - for inflation you'd get a number for the amount of articles but something as wide as inflation would probably provide too many results for it to compute. Could also just do an irish times archive search within the timeline specified

There is some material available online but if you want your thesis to be comprehensive you'll need to do the legwork and get down to the National Library to check their archives.
