We are looking at Malaysia for our honeymoon in April and just wondering if anyone has been and has any advise/recommendations for us? Our plan at the minute is to fly to kuala lumpar and stay 3 nights. Then Borneo for a week doing a trip with trailfinders taking in Jungle and water tours. Finally hoping to head to Bali for a week for some beach R&R. (have the potion of Penang either) Any thoughts very welcome.
    Cheers

If it's a honeymoon would not bother with Penang. Malacca is actually worth a visit if you are looking for somewhere different than a beach. KL is like most big cities but for me did not have as much going for it as say Bangkok. 3 days is more than enough for KL. Never got to the islands per se.

3 nights is possibly too long in KL, especially so on honeymoon.

I'd take a trip to Malacca as mentioned or up to a romantic lodge in the cooler Cameron highlands.

Alternatively take a flight to Siem Reap from KL and do Angkor Wat temples. Cambodia is a fantastic place and retains a bustle at street level which has disappeared from much of Asia.

Flight can be had quite cheaply.

Cheers for that. Malacca seems to be worth a look so - will check it out. Both been to Bangkok before so for flights KL was handier. Plan on not moving from pool for first 3 days anyway so as long as hotel is nice I'll be quite content
