UK reg cars

I have noticed over the last year that their are a lot of garages selling UK reg cars, what is the legality here , They seem to be a bit cheaper that other garages but i would be very wary of buying from them . Where would one stand in terms of insurance and tax etc

Same tax and insurance as any car. There is a scarcity of mostly 09 cars so thats why people are importing them even main dealers. Nothing different only specs.

I may be stating the obvious, but they do need to be registered here prior to use.:)

the dealers have a dispensation to re-register them when sold......rather than striaght away

Check them out carefully as it is not unknown for insurance right offs to be dumped here.
