    Hey there.

I got a lovely little Aspire One Netbook from Santa with a 160 GB and 1 GB Memorey.

I would like to increase the memorey but I am not sure by how much?

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks in advance. :)

Have you got the exact model number from the notebook?

As far as I'm aware, that netbook can go up as high as 2GB and it uses DDR2 ram.

I'm not sure if that netbook has 1 memory slot or 2 memory slots.you might have to buy a 2GB stick of ram.

Though a model number would def help confirm that

Hey many thanks for the posts.

    It is a D255 model.

Just one other tiny question :)

Can you download windows essential onto a windows 7 starter operating system on this netbook?

    Many thanks.

    Enjoy the weekend.

Yeah security essentials will work fine. It's my anti virus of choice!

Buy 2 1GB sticks of RAM, and you'll be sorted.

Thanks a mill for the post.

For window essentials should I download the 32 bit or 64 bit for windows 7 starter?

    :)

You sure? The Crucial site lists both the DDR2 and DDR3 D255 models as having only one slot.

Double check this. The best thing to do is to go to a site with a memory configuration and put in your exact spec. It'll supply the exact memory required and guarantee that it'll be compatible. I normally use Crucial.

As far as I know your notebook can only take 2GB of ram, and yes I would recommend it.
