Probably in the wrong section but dont know where to put it.

My parents are from the north and they are looking to get irish passports as they are cheaper than brittish ones. Just wondering do you need a pps number to get an irish passport? I have an irish passport but I have been living down here a few years and been working here so I have a pps number. If you do need a pps number is it easy to get one? Anyone know what the craic is with it?

No you do not need a pps number. You basically need a birth certificate.
The passport office website seems dead at present but the information should be there. A number of NI post offices offer the Passport Express service and this might be the way to go, they'll have the forms.
