    Waste of time imo.

Crappy parts, and electronics. All you need to do is bolt it together really. It's not much of a "build" imo.

Cheers, what kits/diy would you reccommend?

    agree with the above.

you can buy body blanks for a more interesting approach. tthey cost like 50 euro and you can carve youre own unique shape. some come with all the routings already but on a square slab so you can carve it.

if youre not up for that, you could still buy unfinished parts on ebay. "stratosphere" is a good store for buying body parts.
you could buy all the parts you need. itll add up to a bit more, but at the end of it youd have a better guitar then the one from everest

I actually think for 99€ it aint that bad. You still need to install the tremolo springs, shape the headstock, assemble the bridge and tuners. And of course theres the finishing which can be time consuming. Also its a good start for learning intonation, set up, and wiring.

Fair enough it won't be the most taxing project you ever done but should be still reasonably engaging.

If I were you I'd put it together and see how it feels and plays, then if it was worth it, start swapping out the parts (e.g. pickups, electronics, tuners etc) even throw in a couple of modifications.

For a first build it looks a good start.

Bit more expensive, but Carvin have some great kits and you can custom build a Carvin guitar too.

    I agree with this.

Theres also a company called BYOGuitar that does some real nice looking kits:

I'm seriously gassing for that set neck LP Jnr.

Might not be a amazing guitar, but you would learn alot about guitar building from that cheap kit.

Well I expect nothing great from it in terms of sound/quality, its not gonna be a USA Strat its only €99 after all.
But I've been interested in building a guitar for a while and I might research this further.

If a basic Guitar kit is what you want check out this crowd http://swiftmusiclondon.weebly.com/guitar-kits.htmlfor between 50 and 60 sterling delivered it's good value. I intend getting a couple,if for nothing else for the fun of finishing them and hearing them squeal.

Thanks, all good suggestions, I might still go with the kit, or buy a few pieces of crap from pawn shops or wherever, and cannibalize them for parts.

1 Buy a squier etc on adverts
2 Give it to one of your mates & get him to take it apart completely before you play it
3 Get him to put it in a box & give it back to you

a better quality kit than buying bits & bobs that might not even go together & your still learning the building process

Was thinking of buying one of the kits of ebay or somewhere myself else just to see how it turns out and learn a bit about the putting together of a guitar (If it turned out it played alright I could go about upgrading it if it was worth it) and then hopefully after a bit of experience build one more or less from scratch.
