Good news for Ciara, guess that means that she'll go to college in Ireland next year.

Article also mentions that she'll compete in the New Balance Games at the end of January. She has just had a very long season, including the Commonwealth games and the Euro Cross country. I thought she would be taking a breather but look like she won't. She ran the indoors at the Odyssey last year, anyone know if she will be running this year ?

Think the NBG is part of her contractual obligations however I personally thought that cross was out due to her long season and i was wrong so i guess its a strong possibility especially given the fact that Euro Indoors could be a good bridging into senior competition to follow up from the Commonwealths. Will be interesting to see how it pans out

Yes I was very surprised to hear that she is going to compete in the upcoming indoor season, she has the Millrose Games in New York at the end of January followed by now what seems to be the NBG. I have heard the European Indoors are a target, and as mentioned would be a good stepping stone onto the senior stage. Mageean has confirmed she will be competing at National Indoors too according to AAI site.

With an excellent world junior silver in august, followed by the common wealth games in October, then the European cross last month, I hope she has gotten a break in there somewhere.

She has European Junior's this July so I'm sure they will be a focus so maybe after the indoors she can afford a week or two break and then plan for those. I hope she enjoys a very successful year. She's a very grounded, nice person.

    Great to hear.

This means she is ineligible for a US scholarship so I guess DCU or maybe UU next year if she doesn't become a full time athlete.

    She thoroughly deserves it all!

Going by her interview it seems she has her heart set on veterinary, and she accepts that she would find it very hard to balance such a course or career with her aims as an athlete. This may suggest that she will turn into a professional athlete altogether for a few years and see what happens. Another option would be she may choose a less demanding course that would allow her more free time.

She has been with Brooks and nike I think but that was just clothing and shoes.Would love to know how much she is getting off New Balance.
Im sure she has alot of performance based bonuses.
Shows what a talent she is to get a deal at sucha young age.
Im sure the American colleges are dissapointed.
Anyone know a history on her coach?
    has she now quit Hockey?

    Unreal deal, delighted for her

I am concerned about the amount of competitions she is doing across the different surfaces at her age, hopefully her coach knows what's best, and isn't trying to make her do everything all at once
