Unlocking Meteor Broadband Huawei E180

Hey guys, I recently moved house and my signal has gone to sh1t. Rang meteor and they told me they dont keep unlock codes for their dongles! Fantastic. If I give someone my IMEI number, could you generate an unlock code? I have seen the thread about this, but the language used is so bad I am suspect as to its authenticity.

after unlocking it do you have to change the vpn setting.

Are updates only network specific and not needed anymore if unlocked!
