have up to 7k but would go to 8k for something special

Mazda MX-5.

Not the fastest but handles like a dream supposedly. A great weekend car at that money.

not a fan of the mx-5. never liked them and im not too sure why!

love the s2000 but can afford to insure it :mad:

should probably say cooper s would probably be as powerful as i can go.
any opinions of the roadsters? any owners on here?

i find it curious that you wouldn't like the mx5 but would like a smart car..? try driving one, they're supposed to have one of the best chassis around. pretty much haven't changed the car over the last 20 years because it was so perfect to begin with. (yeah, you can tell I'm gonna get one at some stage)

have you seen the newer mx-5s. they're not as curvy, a bit more butch looking and you can get em in the hardtop.

@kev_Longshanks100 : nice spot. thats actually quite cheap for an s2000. (edit: just saw pics... would always be hesitant to buy from a boy racer)

i know i have a strange taste in cars :-)

the new mx-5's think its 07 up are nice but out of my price range.

Ive driven a 94 mx-5 and they are fantastic but looks wise there not for me

If insurance is an issue why not go with something classic? Presuming you already have a daily, cq €250 to insure and €48 to tax once 30 years old. Can go as big as you like then!

i had 3 classic minis in the past and until we buy a house with a garage i vowed never to have a classic until then! i watched the 3 rot outside every night.

id love another one but i will wait until i have a garage to fill with classics:D

i have a company van but it will be a daily driver on days when im not working

z4 is a nice car never thought of them. can they be got with a hard top? living in limerick. dont think soft top would be a good idea

if ya like evos but afraid of the insurance try a wrx impreza not the sti spec. should be well within your price range in a 04 or so and you might get a good deal on insurance if ya scout around, apparently 123 and axa is where to look.

Sorry but that's a ridiculous statement and a ridiculous conclusion, the above car looks well cared for and most enthussiast cars, yes enthussiast cars not 'boy racer' cars are cared for probably a little too much.


OP Any pics I've seen of MX-5's never do them justice, they really are an awesome car, drive one, you won't look back
