It would be the total value of the sector if 52,000 jobs are created.

It also fails to mention like all the other wind propaganda articles the economic cost to all of us, and the environmental cost to others

Value? Profit per year? Worth if sold?

    What?

The maximum that your link would put it at is 200m, and there is no way that all of that related to wind energy. In fact a sizeable proportion relates to energy efficient cars. Your figure pales in comparison to even 10% of the figure in the original post.

Dont forget the billions the wind generators get due to the market being skewed so wind power has to be used when wind blows no matter the cost, not the cheapest most efficient generator at the time, and other measures which provide guaranteed prices and profits.

Despite an increase in wind capacity we have not seen a decrease in energy prices, the only decreases we seen was due to global falls in fuel prices after 2008

and even then the Regulator prevented generators from lowering prices in order to "encourage competition" (translation: subsidise wind which cant compete on price)

    What?

Value to the economy (in 2030) via economic development, energy security and carbon savings minus the actual costs of implementing the technologies.

€9 billion is the most optimistic valuation in the report and is based on a massive installation of renewables.

slightly off topic i know ( and perhaps suited to the conspirocy theory forum ) but was told yesterday by someone ( not in a pub ) that thier is a gas reserve off the east coast which dwarves what the state gave away to shell , this person claims that a joint irish - british effort will be launched in the coming years and that the find is massive

    is this person crazy

So that's why the Brits were so gracious in throwing a few quid our way in the bail out. Biffo, just signed away the biggest gas well in the world.
