The steering is exerting pressure on the lock, preventing it from operating. You need to push hard against the resistance on the steering wheel, while turning the key.

Clothes-hanger to open the window. Underneath the dashboard for hotwiring (a philips head should do)- if unsure on how to do the trick push to a quiet place ie. wooded area with nobody observing.

You are stealing the car, right ?

My steering wheel lock is really sticky to undo so I never use it. Once I was sitting in the car for what felt like forever fiddling with the key and the wheel. I had passengers with me at the time and I was really embarrassed. That was the day I swore off it. Until I get a shiny new car, that is!
