Hi. We are renovating an old 2 storey house which already has 12 radiators installed. We were planning to install a solid fuel cooker in the kitchen, either a rayburn 4500 or a stanley donard and back this up with oil central heating. However talking to various people they have informed us that these cookers won't heat the whole house, even though the manufacturers say 10-14 rads, as it takes 15,000btu to heat the cylinder 1st and then all thats left for rest of house is 40 or 45,000btu, depending on which 1 we went for. We really do not want to waste money on installing a range if it will not heat the whole house. Does anyone have any experience of heating a house with either of these models or have any other thoughts?
