Access from the house to the extension will be through what is currently a set of patio doors. Does anyone know what would be the extra cost to put in an RSJ and open up…

Hi all

We are looking into building an extension in the back of our three bed semi. the extsion will be approx 4mx3m so as to avoid the planing process. Access from the house to the extension will be through what is currently a set of patio doors. Does anyone know what would be the extra cost to put in an RSJ and open up the extension (i.e. put in a 4m opening so that the extension will be as attached). Just a rough cost not looking for anything concrete.

Also, would fitting the RSJ involve carrying out work on the upper floor, we would prefer no to disturb the rooms above.
