Help! Problems with mobile internet (Xperia X10)

    Been having a lot of issues with mobile internet performance on my Xperia X10 - signal strength is poor or non existent most of the time (had great coverage initially). Can appear to have a signal but it evaporates when I try to access the web. Time of day doesn’t matter.

    Contacted O2 yesterday who checked the signal strength & traffic volume on the nearest masts and reported low traffic & no problems. They suggested bringing the phone back to the shop but I’m reluctant to lose all my data again (I’ve had the phone at factory reset 3 times already).

    I do like the phone but I'm getting quite frustrated with this internet issue. I’m not a technophobe but I’m not as ‘into’ all the features, functions and settings of smartphones as others may be.

    Any idea what the problem with the phone might be?
