Anybody know anything about this insurance crowd? Are they any good?

Got a quote of €1,183 3rd party for a 3.2 V6, thats with 5 years no claims. Quinn won't offer me a renewal quote under that engine size, as i'm not over 30. I'm presuming the same with Axa and the other larger insurance crowds?

    Any info would be great.

    They're underwritten by travelers

I'm insured with 123. They were one of the only ones that would give me a quote. I've never had to make a claim though so can't say how good they are in that regard.

A friend of mine got insured with them last year and it took them three months to send him out the insurance cert and had three rather awkward incidents with the Guards over why wasn't he displaying his insurance disc, on the third time he was going to be charged for having no insurance until the guards themselves followed up his online paperwork that 123 provided and advised him to never again get insurance with them, which he didn't either.

They have no customer service and any company that resorts to advertising through the Sky Customer Magazine are really only preying on stupid people.

I had no problems with customer service. I gave the wrong reg when signing up, rang up and they sorted it straight away. I got the cert within the time they stated.

i'm insured with them, they were the cheapest crowd last year (btw i'm a 31 yr old female, full licence, drive a 1 litre car, no points or claims)

thankfully i didnt have to make a claim, so i dont know what they're like in that regard.

but i moved house in the middle of the policy and when i contacted them to inform them, they told me they would have to issue a new cert and disc, which would incur a €40 "administration" charge.... now, that just seems crazy to me. thanks to my job, i have often moved duringa policy year and never incurred a charge before. even a tenner would have seemed reasonable but 40 quid was taking the p1ss i felt.

on principle, i'm not gonna renew with them this year.

If you're already with Quinn and have an existing policy then they have to quote you.

Not any more, they're RSA now.

I recently changed to 123.ie when i got a quote substantially less than my renewal from AXA.

My insurance cert arrived promptly once i emailed them my no claims cert. I saved nearly 50% on my premium so i'm quite happy with them so far.

Just got an online quote from 123.ie

My broker is looking for a renewal of €380. 123.ie online quote is €262 for same details.

I'm with them via their old underwriting deal with Travelers. Never had to claim but also never had a problem to date. No idea what they'd be like claiming. Were 100 quid cheaper than Quinn but its looking like they won't be anywhere near as cheap with the RSA underwriting (still less than last years quote but not as much less as others)

They are pretty cheap alright, I wouldn't want to know what they'd be like when you have to claim...!

I'm liking the hibernian deal at the minute though.

I was with them last year as they were the cheapest at the time. I moved to a different company this year as like others 123.ie were not as competitive, i.e. their premium rose and the excess on the policy nearly doubled.

No experience of how good or bad they are as I didn't have to make a claim.

Axa are coming in the cheapest for me, 27 year old with a 2.5 turbo charged car, beating 123.ie by about €150.

Just been on the phone with my broker. They have dropped to €300 and I'm gonna stay with them at that. They are a local dealer, are great when you need them, no being placed on hold listening to menus etc. For the sake of 40 quid I'll stay with them.

123.ie were great as a leverage tool in this case.

I'm with 123.ie and I won't be staying with them, moved house €40 admin, changed car €40 admin, 3 times they spelled my address wrong, when I first went with them they said they never received my ncb cert so I had to get another so I sent that by registered post and they said that never arrived either, good job I had proof it had been signed for. I hope I never have to claim because I reckon it would be a nightmare.

Same here ... I moved twice during 11 months with them (1 month left) so thats an extra 80e, few times i was changing temporarily car so thats another lets say 50 yoyos and i changed a car t3 times so thats another 120e ... Even if its cheaper at around 200e i wont go back to 123.ie ... Looking for my laser card each time i call them ... I wonder how much they would charge me in event of claim lol

123.ie Not recommended at all !

*looks at avatar- Focus ST draffodx? If so, nice job.

123 sound like a bit of a pain with that "admin" fee. Some scam. I'll keep shopping around and keep you posted. But with even hibernian quoting me less than this crowd I reckon I could still find a better deal..

Touch wood none of us have to claim at any stage :P

Quoted me €3,059 in a 1.9 if I install an alarm and tracking device. Did they change their prices?

I'm with them since April and found them very good pricewise, the €40 admin fee is a ballache, I switched cover on a Thursday and then again the following Monday and they charged me two admin fees, bit sh1tty as the Thursday cert and disc hadn't actually been sent out to me.

Must suss out who is broker for Travellers before my renewal date.

I'm with 123 but have never made a claim. I'd love to know someones experience regarding a claim with these guys.

When my last renewal was up i had changed address and they wanted €40 admin(scam) fee. They wanted my credit card details but i queried the fee and said i'd keep ringing around.

I rang back a couple of weeks later bullcrapping them i'd got a competitive quote and they said they wouldn't charge me the admin. fee. They were the cheapest by €100.

I'm 25 with 4 years no claims paying a €1,000 on an Audi S3 1.8 turbo third party fire and theft, not great but by far the cheapest I could get by €250. Was with Quinn on my older car but gave me the same speech about not being 30.

Had to change cars for a week and they charged me €10 admin fee, wasn't very pleased but had no choice. In terms of service whenever I rang I got through very quickly, were very helpful and got my disc in a few days.

I went with them because they are the cheapest and so far seem ok. I have to claim in the next week on my windscreen so I'll let ya know how I get on, that's when ya know how good they are, when they have to pay out!
