I wonder how late I am with this one , shameless swipe from the Dublin City Forum, but it appears there are even crazies in our dear city handing out flyers about the rapture, the return of Jabus or whatever on May 21st 2011

    wecanknow.jpeg

    Linky

Some preacher in the states it seems knows this.

I wonder if the old Vmary has told Joe Coleman about this ?

Just added it to the calendar

I suspect that nothing will happen, nobody will point it out, and they'll just move on to another date

Lol, Not sure , I have not seen these individuals personally yet (I am looking forward to a nice conversation tho) But I have seen more than one street Preacher in Dublin. It appears our own Galway favorite, a women who used to stand outside the shopping center and shout " Women in Trousers is the Devils work, Lord save the Women in Trousers" or something along those lines has come up here also.

This in your face street preaching annoys me more than JC's trolling tbh

Maybe they're just trying to get the jump on the "2012" crowd.

    22nd of October actually.

When nothing happens on 21st May, they will claim that although they know the date, they can't possibly know what form Jesus's "rapture" will take, but rest assured the world will be destroyed in six months and the believers saved.

On 22nd October, they'll be unavailable for comment.

It would be fascinating to know what all those regular Joes with regular jobs are doing now they've got the heads up that the world is ending in 10 months. It's got to be a bit of a game changer? Hopefully not too many of them have guns...

On Reddit yesterday, somebody proposed the idea that for April Fool's day this year they would fake the rapture. They would call into radio and tv shows and claim that they were seeing people disappearing and stuff. After hearing about this May 21st thing though I think they decided to change the mass hoax to that date.

    Link

It could either be incredibly hilarious or, more likely, all go horribly wrong.

Shes an awful pain in the arse that one. I remember hearing her claim that the rise in number of murders in Ireland was because of women wearing trousers.

-Every soul will unite with its resurrected body just prior to the Last Judgment (“judgment day”), when Christ returns:

If you suddenly notice a lot more people wandering around dressed in old fashioned dress and looking like something from dawn of the dead-it might be time to fake the old repentance routine.

Well Jeebus was the original zombie, maybe hes coming back with an army of them. I cant wait, always wanted to be in a zombie invasion.

the slow shuffly Romero types, not the sprinting 28 Days Later types, fcuk that noise.

I was walking from Connolly station toward the quays today and someone handed me literature about this. Had a galance at page 1. Something to do with God has been hiding the Bible's secrets... until now! What followed was a lot of Bible quotes.
Possibly coincadentaly enough, directly across the quays (on the south side beside the big 'PRISON' grafitti wall) there was a building witha big sign saying 'Jesus Lives'. I wonder are they connected?

Horrendous religious bigotry using a right-handed person in their poster when
    Jesus was obviously left-handed

News10 tried to reach ministry leader Harold Camping at Family Radio Worldwide,
based in Oakland, but he was not available.
However, News10 learned Camping calculated the May 21 date based on his
reading of the Bible. He also broadcasts over the airwaves every evening,
    talking about May 21, 2011.

Every time I walk by that sign I'm gripped by the insane but somewhat impractical urge to hang a large banner over the "Jesus" part of it, saying "Elvis".

Was on the bus from Kinnegad to Maynooth this morning and noticed a billboard outside Clonard that was proclaiming there was 'not long to go now' or something to that effect, it had the date May 21st and the following website www.familyradio.com

Warning: website may cause uncontrollable face-palming.

Yeah, correlation doesn't equal causation but obviously your 21st birthday is going to end the universe. Clearly.

    Conversation on May 22 2011

Reporter: So you got the date wrong then?

Nut: Yes, well sometimes these things happen. The Bible is very difficult to understand some times

Reporter: But you seemed so sure?

Nut: Yes, but you know we all make mistakes

Reporter: So do you think if you could be so sure about this, and yet get it so wrong, maybe you are wrong about God in the first place

Nut: GET THE FUDGE OF MY LAND! MARY SUE GET MY GUN!

And of course there's the now mandatory section titled 'Gay Pride: Sign of the End'.

This obsession with homosexuality is one of the more curious aspects of christian fundamentalism, since it seems to be pretty much a given in all biblical nutjobs whatever their views on anything else.

Think of any evil in the world and you can't be sure exactly what they'll think about it. War? Guns? Bring it on! But mention two men having sex and it's pitchforks at dawn guaranteed. There's something very fcuked up about that.

Have they taken into consideration the change from Julian to Gregorian calendar? Might actually be the 31st or even in June. Serious question:pac:

Well can *you* find a problem with their calculations? They don't specifically say which calendar they're using, but does it matter?
God in His mercy has given another tremendous proof. It is as follows:

We have learned that the precise date of the cross was April 1, 33 A.D. when coordinated with our present modern calendar. April 1, 33 A.D. is the only date that meets all the requirements of the Bible, such as being a Friday that falls on the correct date for the Passover, which was the date Christ was to be crucified.

We also have known for some time that the date of the first day of the Day of Judgment coincides with the day when the Rapture will take place, on May 21, 2011. But then it was discovered that there are exactly 722,500 days from April 1, 33 A.D. until May 21, 2011. This fact gives us another infallible, absolute proof that May 21, 2011 is the date of the Rapture.
