Have my ps3 hooked up to the laptop, but nothing comes up when I connect it, I've also tried hooking it up to an XP PC, and nothing either. The ps3 says "connect ethernet cable" because the laptop says there is none.

i.e Network Cable Unplugged .. When its in?!!

Also getting this message in the Device Manager network adaptors section when I right click on the isatap number thing

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

What exactly are you trying to do.

Are you looking to share an internet connection.

If so what type of internet have you, if you have a dongle you will need to enable Internet Connection Sharing.

If you have a router you will want to connect the PS3 directly to the router.

Let me know who your broadband is with and what you are trying to do and I will gie you some instructions.

Also when I go into Internet Sharing Connections there is no drop down for Home Network Connection to choose Local Area Connection? And there is constantly a red x mark beside Local Area Connection in Manage Network Connections :confused::confused:

And after tryin to update the drivers on windows, it says "windows has determined the drivers are up to date"

There are two exclamation marks in yellow beside the drivers in device manager

ok IT IS AS SIMPLE AS THIS IM SURE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR PC U ARE USING A REGULAR ETHERNET CABLE WHICH SIMPLY WILL NOT WORK U NEED TO BUY A SPECIAL ETHERNET CABLE TO CONNECT ONE DEVICE TO ANOTHER WITHOUT A HUB IN BETWEEN IT IS BASICALLY A CABLE WITH THE WIRES SET UP IN A DIFFERANT WAY I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME REMEMBER THE PROPER NAME FOR IT BUT GOOGLE SHOULD SUPPLY A GOOD ANSWER

    It's a crossover cable.

The best way to connect the ps3 would be by a ethernet cable to the modem. Or wirelessly to the modem.

Looks like a problem with the ethernet driver. Delete all entries with exclamation marks, install the correct driver, then reboot (or delete all entries with exclamation marks, reboot and Windows will try to sort it out).

    From http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001212.htm
Remove all devices with exclamation mark and any "Other devices" from Device Manager by highlighting them and pressing the delete key on the keyboard. Once they've all been removed reboot the computer and allow Windows to re-detect the devices.

If after rebooting the computer the Device Manager remains the same Windows is not installing the devices because it lacks the proper driver support. You'll need to download the latest drivers for that device. Additional information about finding drivers can be found on document CH000644.
