i've been downloading some videos on my macbook so i have the original download (.flv file or something similar) the converted file (mp4) and the copy in itunes. probably a silly question but do i have to keep the original or the converted file for the copy to play on itunes?

    thanks

The FLV file can be deleted.

To decide if the MP4 file can be deleted or not, you could move the MP4 file to the Thrash and then try to play the file in iTunes. If the video plays then you can delete the MP4 file. If iTunes tell you that it can't find the file then you will neeed to restore the file to its original location. :)
