im asking for a friend here. he has a 2003 1.4 tdci diesel ford fiesta. he was wondering about getting it remapped. he said it would probably only give it an extra 10 bhp but since it has so little anyway anybit would be a bonus. the car has 120k miles on it and he was worried that it might be too old and the mileage would be too much to get it done. what do ye think. car is averaging 45 miles per gallon but is going up and down a lot of hills each day kind of killing it.
who are the best in cork. kc systems or chipmaster.

Complete waste of money for 10bhp...

well i think it has 70 and a remap would bring it to 82bhp.

2hp aint going to make it viable. Better of trying something else..

i reckon you could safely remap it to 90bhp.

    from chippedire.com
    ford fiesta +2003
    power
    stock 68bhp remapped 88bhp
    51kw 66kw
    torque
    stock 160nm remmaped 200nm
    118ft/lb 147ft/lb

not bad gains for a 1.4 diesel.. could need a new clutch after a remap do

You will not see a near 30% power increase without a significant decrease in mileage, so OP make sure your mate factors that in if mileage is a concern.

what kind of a decrease would you be looking at

your best bet is to give joe @ chippedire a shout. he can custom remap each car to suit what the driver wants be it power, torque or mpg
