Whirlpool Dishwasher Problem

So lastnight I put on the dishwasher as normal I heard it start up so off I went, came back today and it hadn't gone through to wash cycle.

Its switching on fine and I can select a programme, I've checked the water pipe and it has no kinks and the flow is fine in it but each time I start it it starts up as normal barely fills the bottom full of water and then stops.

After about 5min it drains the water back out and beeps as if its normally finished.

    Any suggestions?

Unplug the machine - disconnect the water inlet pipe and let water run into a basin or if it reaches sink -

The most likely cause of your problem is the machine didn't fill quick enough to satisfy the electronic board - with the low water pressure restrictions etc there might be an airlock in the system enough to halt the machine - flushing it should be enough and leaving the appliance unplugged should reset it -when you power back up cancel any programme that might have been selected previously -

Its def not lack of water pressure or air in either the water pipe or within the dishwasher, from what I can see what should normally be a decent flow from a left hand outlet inside the dishwasher is only a few drips and drops.

This in turn doesn't appear to be filling the dishwasher fast enough so its ending the program, from what I've been reading this could suggest an issue with the water tank on the left hand side of the machine.

Could it perhaps have a blockage or could a motor that helps fill this tank be gone?

There is no motor to fill a tank -have you reset it as I said ?

Is the light flashing in sequence 5 times. ?

(only other thing to trigger the pump is the leak detection switch has been activated ) but I doubt it

Reset and see what happens ,and even though you think there is enough pressure , purge it anyway air could be trapped further up

When you disconnected the water inlet hose did you check if the little filter on the dishwasher is blocked? Many have a kind of plastic mesh where you connect the mains water into that can become blocked and reduce the flow inside the machine. Had that problem with our Hotpoint. Now that I think of it there was two - a course metal mesh on the end of the water hose that connects to the mains and the finer plastic one on the machine itself.
