"Frankfurt" Hahn is out in the sticks. Bus transfer to Frankfurt proper takes 1:45 h according to bus provider and costs €12.- one way.
Also be warned: at Hahn Ryan Air staff are particularly strict as far as baggage restrictions are concerned and the Duty Free shop is rubbish.

AFAIK, the bus service to Kerry Airport is not great, I dont think that the Cork bus's stop at the airport itself, probably at Farranfore Village they stop at which means you have a bit of a walk, probably best to ring either Tralee or Killarney Bus stations and they would be able to give you a better idea. :)

its about the same distance from hahn to frankfurt as it is from hahn to luxembourg city which is a really nice town, the bus to frankfurt stops outside the door of the airport terminal, its a few hundred yard walk down to the bus shelter for the bus to luxembourg

the weekend is very quiet in frankfurt so be warned, the business people are at home

Not the best connections in the world and I wouldn't use Hahn unless I had to. It's really in the middle of nowhere and the only connections are by bus or hire car.

Frankfurt is pretty poor for a weekend getaway. Try heading to Heidelberg instead. Lovely town with plenty to see and do for a weekend.

Hello from Germany and happy new year

Frankfurt is a 1h45 min busride from Hahn (14 Euro per adult)

    anyone looking for someting different

River Mosel valley isnt far from Hahn (20 km) with good wine

and castles (Burg Eltz for ex) and small villages with restaurants and pubs

but river cruise is more for autuum or summer than rainy German winter.

Gosh, I certainly wouldn't write off this deal. True that Hahn is a treck into Frankfurt but it doesn't actually seem too bad a journey once you are on the bus. Frankfurt imo is a great place to visit, it is a lovely vibrant city with some excellent restaurants, pubs, great shopping and when there isn't a 'Fair'/Messe in town you will get great bargains in 4 star hotels. It is a grand easy city to walk around too as everything is quite central. Also, worth considering hiring a bike and cycling around one of the fab green parks in the city.

    I'd say grab the deal.

We flew to hahn once & completely fell in love with the area.

Most years now we spend some time in Saarburg or Trier (beautiful city & very historic) and also down to Luxembourg.

We like it so much we have never made it to Frankfurt city itself.
