Of course you can, it just has to fit in with the restrictions on cabin bag weight and size - the camera/laptop along with lenses and other accessories need to be in the same bag, you can't carry on a camera bag, laptop bag and a small backpack :)

You will need to remove the laptop and place it into it's own tray for scanning. The same thing might be applicable to the camera.

I wouldn't advise having the camera out of the bag at any time, photography around the security area isn't permitted for obvious reasons and while you mightn't be taking photos it's probably best to keep the camera away :)

I believe the weight limit is about 10kg for carry on

Just for your own sanity in the security queue, make sure you pack the laptop in a manner that is easily removable as you approach the scanners as it needs to be scanned seperately.

I once pulled my laptop out, and had to pick up my 'under garments' ;) after doing so. What made it worse was this was my trip home so...you know where this is going.

Probably too late now (Flight is tonight isn't it?), but whenever I've travelled with a laptop, I'd usually use a backpack with a laptop compartment as part of it.

I find them to be very easy to use at security checks. Just slide out the laptop, place the bag itself on another tray, and then re-assemble on the other end.
Fast, easy, and and the rest of you stuff stays in the bag.
