My hubby and I got married in October and we went to Paris for our honeymoon. The flight was nice and short, only about an hour or so, and we loved Paris, there was loads to do and lots of little romantic restaurants to sit in and have dinner or a drink.

We booked flights directly with Aer Lingus, and were able to take advantage of a seat sale so the flights were very cheap. We splashed out a bit on the hotel, and always be sure to mention when you're booking that you're on honeymoon, because the hotel will usually upgrade you. We went for a week, we probably could have used another few days, but I felt a week was a nice length. It also meant that there was some places we can look forward to visiting if we go back.

if you are looking at cruises and only wish to have a short flight that rules out the caribbean cruises,so then your choice will come down to are you looking for somewhere warmer or dont mind the cold, most of the cruises leave from southhampton ,some from newcastle and other copenhagen to cruise the baltic or northern europe which is norway russia and a few other places in between if you look up cruise websites they show ports and places visited, the fjords are scenic and the areas around, but the weather wouldnt be the warmest, the other side is further south to cruise the Mediterranean for a bit warmer,to get a flight to somewhere in europe to join a cruise there, good thing to do is look at ports and places to see if they would be of any interest to you seeing,if looking at cruises best to look early at offers in travel agents or online, flew into biarritz once on a holiday drove through the pyrennes in the south of france in late october was quiet and very scenic, but if your just looking for a relaxing week nice in the south of france is worth a look, best of luck with the honeymoon search
