The M1 northbound just short on Junction 8 was mayhem this morning. I flipped me car when I hit black ice, then while waiting for recovery 3 more cars lost it in the exact same spot I did. Then further up another car lost it on ice.

Edit: Also just on the offchance they may see, thanks to the 3 lads in the van who stopped to help, the Gards and the ambulance crew.

It was very strange alright. I drove up the N4 at about 03:00 this morning and road conditions were not bad. Travelling back at 09:30 this morning it was like an ice rink.

Yea I'm grand, don't know how though! It was strange though standing round waiting for the recovery and seeing cars lose it so easily.

the area around the Bog of the Ring there is always bad for black ice. There was a van on its roof in past the barriers when I passed this morning. Between the applegreen garage and the Lissenhall exit is generally the worst hit if there's black ice.
