Sky+ HD installation

I am looking to get Sky+ HD installed downstairs in my house and transfer my standard box upstairs as part of a Multiroom package.

I have heard stories that Sky are insistent that the two boxes must be connected to a phone line and I'm just wondering would the installation engineer refuse to do the install if this was the case.

As a back up, I'm thinking of getting my hands on these and was wondering are they worth it?:

Thanks for any help that you can give me with this.

You need a phone line for multiroom, afaik wireless phone extenders work ok.

Do you need All the channels on the upstairs box?

or would you be able to suffer on with the free channels. (save yourself €15 per month, and no need for phone line. ) just a thought..
