Metac -v- Glasswool in vaulted ceiling

    Hi

I have a vaulted ceiling (approx 45m2) in sunroom and was proposing to use 220mm of metac and 50mm insulated board. However, when builder got prices for metac he found it was over 5 times more expensive than the glass wool. I have 175mm rafters and he proposes to compress 200mm of glasswool into this space as this would ensure the wool doesn't slump. He said this will give you the same result as using 175mm of glass wool but without the risk of slumping. Given the major price difference between the metac and glasswool (over €650 ex VAT) would it be worthwhile going with metac? How long would it take to recoup the additional cost in reduce heating bills? Would the metac also make the room more comfortable in the summer by reducing the heat coming from the roof?

    Thanks
