so according to the radio gerry adams said if he could do a deal with ian paisley he could do a deal with anybody,

i hope more is made of this as it will guarantee they dont pick up too many more seats and i dont think fine fail would do it (well they might, but i dont see it actually happening) but the headlines the idea will cause alone will result in both parties doing even worse then they would do normally

fine fail supporters want nothing to do with sinn fein and sinn fein supporters want nothing to do with fine fail

keep up the good pr lads ;)

well this definitely needed a new thread.

it could, or it could scare people off voting for Labour, seeing as they'd be closer economically and socially to SF than FG/FF would be.

or, most likely, it won't make a bit of difference.

by the way, i don't think Gerry reminding everyone that unionists regard them as ok to go into government with, backed by all parties in the south, and have been doing pretty well, without turning NI into the socialist hellhole certain posters seem to ignorantly think will happen if they were a tiny minority party in a coalition, plays into the little "not fit for government" bias that runs through certain posts here.

i would argue that their position on the political compass and the policies that come with that are irrelevant to their position of power in the north were as in the south it is the only relevant matter

Stupid comment by Adams. Said he could do a deal with anyone, then when a bit of pressure from the opposition is on, he rolls back and starts to rule out parties that he wont work with.
