Hey everybody just wondering if someone here can point me in the right direction. I'm opening a gallery/venue and I'm looking at extra ways of generating income.

So I'm wondering as a sole trader do I need some sort of restaurant/food/retail licence to sell sealed food products like biscuits, crisps, muffins, popcorn, sweets and dispense teas and coffee, there is no preparing of food to happen on site or by me. Well apart from the tea and coffee. Everything will be from the wholesalers.

Also if on an exhibition launch night, wine and beer is given out free to the patrons do you still need a wine or alcohol on-licence? and does anyone know are there any specific licences needed for these BYOB places i see popping up around the place.

No licence needed for pre-packed food.
I'm assuming the booze is the same if it is indeed BYO, as a licence covers the sale of alcohol.

Defintiely don't need a license to give out a glass of wine or beer on a launch night. Again, I would assume it's the same with BYOB as you're not responsible for the sale of it.
