Sorry, another airlock question here. I have read previous threads but still none the wiser. We're in SDCC district and have the restrictions from 7pm to 7 am.

We have checked the tank and it's full, mains pressure downstairs is great. When we turn on any of the hot taps, they run for about 20 seconds then drain off. I thought there would be no water at all if you had an airlock somewhere. We have a mixer tap in the kitchen and forced the cold water back up through the hot tap but still nothing 10 minutes later. Also tried it from the mixer tap in the bath upstairs. Our Gas heating is also gone now. It fires up, then cuts out about 5 minutes later. Any ideas anyone. Thanks

I'm sorted, tried the airlock thing one last time from the kitchen and it has kickstarted everything again. No heating yet but I'll try it in a hour when the water is flowing around properly.

I was confused as I thought you shouldn't have any water at all in the hot taps if you had an airlock.

Water can sometimes flow for a couple of seconds and then stop if there's an airlock. Its draining the water thats in the pipe.
