    Hi Folks,

Paul o'Leary here from ADK Ireland and UTI Blarney.

Some of you may know that a few years ago, I tried to organise a multi-style martial arts seminar in aid of Cystic Fibrosis called "Fighter's For Life". Due to various reasons this did not happen but recently a great cause has come to my attention and I think that we as Martial Artists could come together and do something really special for "Bee For Batten's - The Saoirse Foundation"

Below is the basic idea behind the Fighter's For Life event. It will be run on Sunday 13th of February 2011, and will be held in K2C Dojo, Northpoint Business Park, Commons Road, Blackpool, Cork. From 11 am till 5 pm.

    General Information:

All profit after hall rental expenses and possible postage costs must be paid to the designated charity.
Any clubs that have mats are asked to please donate a supply for the event.

    Instructor Information:
All instructors will give their time for free!
All instructors will pay their own travel and accommodation, this will be seen as a donation towards the event from said instructor.
Sessions will be run in rotation depending on the amount of styles, instructors and number of attendee's. Half an hour being the least amount of time given to a session.
When a number of instructors present themselves for teaching, then they will be asked to rotate from instruction to allow others to teach.
A limit of 3 instructors per style and one instructor per association will be allowed.

    Attendee Information:
To keep this event as orderly as possible an age limit of 13 years up is required. (clubs may run smaller events for younger members locally, with raised funds donated to the agreed charity. This could be a kick-a-ton, punch-a-ton or throw-a-ton etc...)
Attendee's are asked to raise funds for the event by requesting sponsorship cards from their instructor or the event organiser. These funds can then be brought to the event in sealed envelopes with the individuals name, club, and amount contained.
Groups on the day will be made up of mixed styles, in the spirit of the event everyone will train with everyone else no matter the style, grade or association.
All ego's will be left at the door!
    Everyone will have fun!

Sponsorship card and poster is attached to this email for you to print off and use locally.

I also have cards available to me from the Battens charity and can post them to you if you do not have a printer.

If you intend on travelling and would like to stay over night in Cork City. I suggest you try out Gabriel House B&B at St. Lukes

Any suggestions will be taken on board and considered...

    Yours In Martial Arts,

    Paul o'Leary
