Wow, this is a really cool idea. Amazing potential.

Depending on what kind of effect cartridges come out, I'd get one, but I'm pretty GASsy even listening to Devi talk about it.

Is it really that different than being able to download patches/effects via USB to current units? (In fact.. is it not a step back in that you need to purchase a cart for the new effects)..

    Or am I missing something?

(I do like the woodie 2600 styling though :))

Very strange but anything that looks like an Atari is good in my books!

It's a bit like the Line 6 Tonecore stuff with the modules you can buy.

I can see this being a bit glitchy though, and hella pricey

Well this is analogue, so certain effects would be a bit better. Real analogue distortion and delay. Devi primarily makes fuzz, and her cartridges are going to be direct transfers from her pedals, so all the analogue fuzz loveliness shouldn't be compromised.

Your argument about this being a step back, I guess you could say that about any pedal currently being made :p Are there not latency issues with those VST pedal things? I know I get a little bit of latency when I'm using my laptop to process guitar. Bearable for the effects though.

Sorta like the Tonecore, except you'll be able to buy effects from more than one company, and use two at once. Cheaper too.

It's actually way cheaper than I expected, anyway. You can pre-order now for €135 with a fuzz cartridge included, and additional cartridges will be €50, USD.

Why would it be glitchy? It works exactly the same as a regular pedal would, except some of the circuit can be removed and swapped with another.

Only after looking at the website and the specs now.

At first I thought the cartridges were just gonna stick out a mile, and just be barely standing in but turns out they go right in and almost stick up about half an inch.

If they turn out to be any good when they come out, I'd definitely be interested in one, especially if some good brands start making cartridges, like maybe some zvex stuff or even analogman ;)

The lineup's pretty deadly so far! Devi Ever, Dwarfcraft, Mellowtone, I'd love a few of those cartridges!

Is it bad that I remembered every word of that ad? That and the fresh prince I can remember but try learn some back up vocals and my mind turns to mush. Maybe Im predisposed to bad rap.

It's scary that I remembered it too. 80's rap when marketing executives thought it was as simple as talking in rhymes. Course it's not much better today either!
