I do English and New Media- The Irish peeps do the same Media modules.

Basically its a mix of cultural studies, sociology, a few communication and technical modules in 3rd year. Some of it is drab but its fine.

Basically, if you look under the "chursa" tab here, there are module codes
    http://www.ul.ie/courses/LM048.shtml

Go to this http://outside.ul.ie/BookofModules/Default.aspx and under "module" select the module code of what it gives you on the course outline. It will give you the module outline which has detailed information.

I graduated from this course in 2009. I loved it but a lot of my course found that the media wasn't as hands on as they thought. Now that we've all graduated we can't get over how much we use our degrees in our everyday work.

Regarding the media you'll learn a lot more about how audiences think and work than say, how a camera works, but depending on what kind of work you want to go get into this could be really good.

If you have any specific questions give me a shout!
